| Hue City leaders pressing the button to inaugurate HPS |
This is one of the main constructions of Hue City on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) (1945 - 2025), and celebrating the 17th Congress of Hue City Party Committee (2025 - 2030). Attending the inauguration ceremony were Mr. Le Truong Luu, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Council, and Head of Hue City National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, along with leaders and former leaders of the People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hue City, etc.
The HPS factory, which processes high-quality low-iron sand and quartz powder, covers an area of 7.3 hectares. Since 2023, it has had a production capacity of 440,000 tons per year and operates under an international ISO management system for quality, environment, and occupational safety. After upgrading the new production line, the total capacity of the factory’s main products has reached 880,000 tons per year.
The factory’s products meet the demands of the domestic high-end glass industry (such as solar panel glass, TFT, tempered glass, ultra-white glass, etc.). The products of this factory have successfully penetrated markets with strict standards such as Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The expanded production line at HPS inherits and develops technology from over 30 leading European factories. Its laboratory is designed according to German standards, operates 100% automatically, and is entirely built and managed by Vietnamese experts. The factory achieves a 60% localization rate with notable innovations, such as mastering the production technology for low-iron silica with iron content of <80ppm, <60ppm, and <40ppm; applying the latest machinery and equipment from the EU/G7; and upgrading automation systems using the newest Siemens (Germany) technology, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Nguyen, Project Director and representative of the HPS Expansion Project Management Board shared: “The HPS factory began construction in February 2020 and was completed and commercially operated in July 2021, becoming a pioneering factory in the mining industry for processing high-quality low-iron sand and quartz powder with 4 outstanding advantages. HPS is committed to linking production development with community responsibility and has implemented many practical and meaningful social responsibility programs in the local area,” said Mr. Nguyen Anh Nguyen.
At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Deputy Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee expressed his recognition and high appreciation for the efforts of the city’s departments, agencies, and local authorities, especially Viet Phuong Group and Hue Premium Silica Co., Ltd. He noted that within a short period, these units demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility, high determination, and close coordination to complete procedures and bring the project to completion on schedule.
Deputy Chairman Phan Quy Phuong requested Hue Premium Silica that after coming into operation, the factory would continue to mobilize maximum resources, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable production; at the same time complying with environmental standards and conserve energy; prioritizing hiring and training local labor, gradually increasing the localization rate, maintaining transparency in governance, and working closely with regulatory authorities to ensure effective operations.
