The inauguration ceremony for the Phu Bai Brewery expansion was co-organized by Carlsberg Vietnam and Hue City People's Committee. The event was attended by Mr. Le Truong Luu, Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People's Committee; the Danish Ambassador to Vietnam; and representatives of the leaders of the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, along with various departments and branches in the area.
With a total investment of nearly 90 million USD, the Phu Bai Brewery expansion project has increased its capacity by 50%, making it the largest beer production facility of the Carlsberg Group in Asia. It is also a top performer within the entire Group in terms of operational efficiency.
The expansion of Phu Bai Brewery's capacity helps meet the increasingly diverse needs of consumers, with a rich portfolio of products, ranging from premium international brands like Carlsberg, 1664 Blanc, Tuborg, and Somersby, to familiar local brands such as Halida and Huda, which is known as the “pride of Central Vietnam”.
Mr. Andrew Khan, Managing Director of Carlsberg Vietnam, shared that the Phu Bai Brewery expansion project demonstrates Carlsberg's long-term commitment to Vietnam. The Phu Bai Brewery is now Carlsberg's largest facility in Asia, equipped with modern technology to produce high-quality products, with greater efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The factory's expansion is not just about scale, but also about better serving consumers, strengthening the supply chain, and creating sustainable value for the community that Carlsberg serves.

Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, stated: “Carlsberg Vietnam has long been a trusted partner in the development of Hue City and the Central region. The expansion of Phu Bai Brewery not only brings advanced production standards, but also shows the enterprise's strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Hue City appreciates Carlsberg's contributions to the locality, and looks forward to continuing to accompany to build a prosperous and sustainable Central region.”
In 2024, Phu Bai Brewery achieved a water usage efficiency of 2.09 hl/hl, ranking among the top 10 most water-efficient facilities of Carlsberg in Asia, and among the breweries with the lowest water consumption in the beer industry in Vietnam. The brewery is on track to reach 2.0 hl/hl by 2026, while also aiming for zero landfill waste by the end of 2025, and achieving net-zero emissions in production by 2028.
Also on the morning of August 26, the commencement ceremony of Scavi Huong Tra Factory Project took place at Tu Ha Industrial Cluster (Huong Tra Ward), with the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, and representatives of the leaders of the City Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City.

The Scavi Huong Tra Factory Project is the third factory for the Scavi Group in Hue. With an investment of nearly 400 billion VND, it will be built on an area of nearly 50,000 m² with a designed capacity of 45 million high-end lingerie products per year, creating stable jobs and income for approximately 2,000 workers. This is another factory built according to the 4.0 smart factory model, utilizing renewable energy, modern automation, and meeting international green and environmentally friendly standards.
When put into operation, the factory will focus on producing high-end fashion lingerie, which will not only enhance the production capacity and competitiveness, but also make a significant contribution to economic growth, to the State budget revenue, job creation for local people, and the promotion of industrialization and modernization in the area.
At the commencement ceremony, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong emphasized that those projects breaking ground today, including the Scavi Huong Tra Factory Project, are not just the events marking the beginning of important projects, but also a clear evidence of Hue's determination on its path toward integration and development, as well as marking the efforts in investment promotion, support, and urging the early implementation of key projects in the area.
Acknowledging and highly appreciating the companionship of Scavi Group with the locality over the past nearly 20 years, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong requested that in the coming time, all levels, sectors, investors, and construction units continue to promote their sense of responsibility, and focus all resources to complete and put the entire project into production on schedule.

“The city also commits to continuing to lead and direct relevant departments, branches, sectors, and localities to closely coordinate, provide maximum support, and accompany investors throughout the project implementation process. The goal is that the success of investors and enterprises is also the success of the locality. In this spirit, we trust that the Scavi Huong Tra Factory will become an important highlight in the city's industrial development, contributing to creating momentum and strengths for local socio-economic development, contributing to achieving the double-digit economic growth target in 2025, creating momentum and solid foundation for the following years,” emphasized Mr. Phan Quy Phuong.
According to the plan, the Scavi Huong Tra Factory Project will be completed, and put into operation in June 2026.
