| Many local organizations, cooperatives, and trademark owners continue to face hurdles in registering, managing, and effectively utilizing their trademarks |
According to the Department of Science and Technology, existing data mainly tracks certificates and owners, lacking comprehensive information to evaluate actual usage, target markets, revenue, or economic value generated by each trademark. The true value of a trademark lies in its active use, consumer recognition and confidence, all of which help products expand their market presence, command higher prices, boost sales, and increase income for producers.
These were among the practical topics addressed in the training program, covering every stage from registration, management, and usage monitoring to trademark commercialization tied to economic growth.
To help organizations, businesses, cooperatives, and trademark owners navigate trademark management, usage, and development, the training covered three main pillars: establishing and managing collective marks; building and managing certification marks; and commercializing trademarks to foster economic growth. Through these sessions, stakeholders were guided to review trademark regulations and usages, standardize product quality, integrate traceability and digital transformation, and develop strategic marketing and market expansion plans to boost business efficiency.
At the conference, delegates engaged in open discussions and raised practical questions with the speakers to address real-world challenges. The Q&A session aimed to improve trademark management and commercialization, unlock the value of intellectual property, enhance product quality, and expand market reach.
