Briefing the delegation on Hue's development, Mr. Trinh Manh Linh said the city had recorded significant achievements across various sectors in recent years. Tourism remains an important economic sector, helping to strengthen Hue's appeal to domestic and international visitors. Alongside efforts to preserve and promote its heritage values, Hue has focused on expanding cooperation, strengthening exchanges and enhancing connections with other localities in the region.
Sharing a border with Lao People's Democratic Republic, Hue has favorable conditions for strengthening cooperation with Lao localities, particularly neighbouring provinces. In recent years, the two sides have maintained regular delegation exchanges and cooperation in national defence, security, and maintaining public order and safety, while also promoting collaboration in education and training.
Many Lao students are currently studying in Hue. The city has also worked with Lao localities, including Sekong and Salavan provinces, to provide training and professional development for their officials. These activities provide an important foundation for expanding people-to-people exchanges, particularly among young people, and further strengthening solidarity and friendship between the two sides.
Expressing his support for the cooperation priorities of the two countries' youth organizations, Mr. Trinh Manh Linh called on Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union Central Committee to strengthen education on the history, significance and importance of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. He also encouraged more youth exchanges and connections, particularly between provinces and cities sharing a common border, creating opportunities for young people from both countries to exchange experiences, cooperate and support one another in youth union activities and movements.
Regarding educational cooperation, Mr. Trinh Manh Linh affirmed that Hue was ready to coordinate and create favourable conditions for Lao students to study in the city. This includes admitting Lao students to suitable training programs at multi-level boarding schools, in line with the policies of the Party and State.
He expressed confidence that, building on the tradition of solidarity and friendship and the close cooperation between the two countries' youth organizations, future programs would continue to be implemented effectively and deliver practical results. These efforts would help educate younger generations about Vietnam-Laos solidarity while making positive contributions to the development of both countries.
On this occasion, Mr. Trinh Manh Linh thanked Lao youth delegation for its goodwill towards Hue and wished the delegation a successful and productive visit.
