Following the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day, Hue continues to see a surge in visitors during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, with occupancy rates at many accommodation establishments are near full capacity. The influx has pushed the tourism sector and businesses to ramp up efforts to ensure both service quality and flexible management of operations, heading to the goals of enhancing visitor experiences and reaching industry development.

During the participation in the VnExpress Marathon Hue 2026, runners will benefit from a free admission to tourist attractions managed by Hue Monuments of Conservation Center. It will offer both domestic and international runners the opportunity to further explore the history, architecture, and culture of Hue Ancient Capital.

Building a digital data infrastructure to preserve history on maps is the mission that Le Quang Tue, founder and manager of the Vietnam Map Archive project, and his team members have been quietly pursuing. To date, Tue’s team has digitized over 200 ancient maps of Vietnam, including ancient maps of Hue.

On the afternoon of March 12th, the Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development Project in Vietnam officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with two leading tourism training institutions in central Vietnam: the School of Hospitality and Tourism - Hue University and Hue Tourism College. On January 27th, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, together with representatives of city departments and agencies, received and worked with a high-level delegation from Vientiane Capital (Laos). On January 23rd, the Department of Finance, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Luxembourg Project Management Unit, the Technical Assistance Office of Project VIE/039, and Musa Pacta Joint Stock Company, organized a workshop to assess the results and development potential of the banana value chain in Hue City.
