Innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education

HNN.VN - Amid rapid technological change, entrepreneurship education at universities needs to create an environment where students can develop creative thinking, problem-solving capacity, and the ability to apply knowledge in practice. This was also the focus of discussions among experts, managers, lecturers, and businesses at the workshop ‘Innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education’, organized by Hue University on the afternoon of September 18.

Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang spoke at a discussion session on methods and barriers in innovation and entrepreneurship education

Under the theme ‘Innovation - Shaping the future’, the workshop assessed how entrepreneurship education is being implemented at universities, from curriculum content and learning methods to the personnel directly involved in training.

From this perspective, discussions at the workshop focused on three major issues: the knowledge that entrepreneurship education should equip learners with; appropriate training methods; and the role of lecturers and businesses in accompanying students throughout the process.

According to Vice Chairman Tran Huu Thuy Giang, amid the profound impacts of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, universities need to strengthen their role as places where ideas are developed, technologies are advanced, and knowledge is transformed into valuable products and services for society.

Through these discussions, the workshop aims to provide greater clarity on how entrepreneurship education can be organized at universities, so that it goes beyond simply inspiring, but gradually connects with practical skills and the ability to develop ideas, and connects students with the innovation ecosystem.
