On the morning of December 29, the Department of Science and Technology held a scientific workshop themed “Analysis and Proposed Solutions to Enhance Local Innovation Index (PII), Digital Transformation, and Develop Hue City’s Innovative Startup Ecosystem for the 2026-2030 period”.

On October 1st, at the National Innovation Center (NIC) in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, held an online ceremony in response to the 2025 National Innovation Day under the theme “Innovation for All - Driving National Development”.

For four consecutive years, Hue City has ranked among the top 10 provinces and cities nationwide in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). This is a remarkable achievement for Thua Thien Hue (now Hue City), especially in the context of increasingly fierce competition among localities to attract investment. The result not only reflects a stable business and investment environment, but also demonstrates a significant shift in governance mindset and the improved quality of the civil servants – a pioneering force in building a service-oriented government.

According to the report of 2024 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) released by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) recently, Hue City made a strong impression by entering the top 10 localities with the best economic governance quality in the country, scoring a total of 71.13 points, ranking 6th out of 63 provinces and cities.

On the morning of April 25, according to the information announced by the Department of Tourism, from the result of Vietnam’s Provincial Tourism Development Index - VTDI 2024, Hue ranked 9th out of 30 provinces and cities included in the index’s scope of research.

On the morning of April 15, in Hanoi, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam in collaboration with the Center for Community Support and Development Studies (CECODES) organized a conference to announce the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) for 2024.

On April 6, at the regular Government meeting and the online conference between the Government and local authorities, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced the Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX) and the Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS) for 2024, applicable to ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.

On December 11, the leader of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports announced that Thua Thien Hue has been honored as one of the top 10 localities leading the Production Attraction Index (PAI) and film production environment in Vietnam.

A two-place drop in the 2023 PCI (Provincial Competitiveness Index) in the rankings notwithstanding, many component indexes have improved significantly, speaking volumes for the province's efforts in improving the investment and business environment in recent years.
