Hue achieved Top 5 localities in the 2025 Provincial Innovation Index

In 2024, the Prime Minister officially declared October 1st as the National Innovation Day. With the theme of “Innovation for All – Driving National Development”, this year’s celebration further confirms the determination of the Party and the State to make innovation a strategic hub for socio-economic development, enhancing productivity, competitiveness, and ensuring sustainable growth. This is also the occasion to honor creative and breakthrough ideas while fostering the formation and growth of a comprehensive innovation ecosystem.

At the 2025 National Innovation Day ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the 2025 Provincial Innovation Index (PII). Notably, five localities were honored in the Top 5: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Hue. Specifically, Hue recorded an innovation input score of 51.5, an innovation output score of 47.23, and a PII 2025 score of 49.37, ranking 5th nationwide.

The Provincial Innovation Index (PII) was officially introduced nationwide by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2023, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization and related agencies. The PII provides a realistic and comprehensive picture of socio-economic development models based on science, technology, and innovation. It serves as a valuable reference, offering scientific and practical grounds for localities to formulate and implement policies that promote socio-economic development based on science, technology, and innovation.

With its achievement of being honored among the Top 5 in the 2025 PII rankings during National Innovation Day 2025, Hue has not only exceeded its set goals and targets but also reaffirmed the efforts of local authorities and sectors in developing concrete and practical measures to advance science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in service of local socio-economic development.
