This is a remarkable breakthrough for Hue City in the efforts to improve the investment and business environment after many years of persistently implementing administrative reforms, digital transformation, supporting businesses, and enhancing public administration efficiency. This position places Hue ahead of many major economic centers such as Danang (ranked 15th), Hanoi (24th), and Ho Chi Minh City (29th).
Along with Hai Phong City (ranked 1st), Quang Ninh (2nd), and Long An (3rd), Hue City is one of the few localities in the leading group with a score above 71, reflecting a high level of satisfaction from the business community regarding the quality of local government administration.
Hue City’s high ranking in PCI 2024 not only affirms the right direction in the work of socio-economic governance but also demonstrates the tangible effectiveness of its reform efforts. Notably, these include initiatives to support small and medium-sized enterprises, enhance transparency, reduce informal costs, and improve the efficiency of administrative procedures.
PCI 2024 results serve as a motivation for Hue City to continue its breakthrough efforts, affirming its role as a central hub in the Central Region on the path toward sustainable development and integration.
This is the third consecutive year that Hue has ranked in the top 10 for the PCI Index. In 2023, Hue ranked 8th with a score of 69.19.
PCI 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the index establishment and its announcement in Vietnam. 2024 PCI index report is a vivid painting on business environment over the past year under the diverse perspective of both domestic and foreign investors, at the same time highlighting the reforms that businesses highly appreciate and the challenges they are facing.
Additionally, the PCI index this year continues to convey business’s assessments of local government’s efforts in managing and protecting the environment, as well as promoting green investment and green business practices within localities. It also recommends that localities should promote green growth and sustainable development.
