On the morning of September 17th, Hue Central Hospital (HCH) and Vietnam Association of Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery jointly organized the 2026 National Scientific Conference on Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery (VASEL 2026), themed ‘Technological Innovation - Integrating AI to Advance Laparoscopic Surgery’.

Hue Central Hospital has recently been recognized by Newsweek and Statista in the ‘Best Specialized Hospital Asia Pacific 2026’ ranking for oncology. The recognition not only highlights the hospital’s expertise but also paves the way to elevate Hue’s healthcare sector, heading towards the development of a medical ecosystem that contributes to the city’s growth.

On the morning of August 29, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city, in coordination with the Department of Health, Hue Central Hospital, and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held a national scientific conference themed ‘Climate Change and Non-Communicable Diseases: Issues and Solutions’.

On the morning of August 21st, Hue Central Hospital, in coordination with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, opened the 14th Annual Hue Scientific Conference on Cancer Prevention and Control. The conference brought together more than 600 delegates, including over 30 international experts, speakers and lecturers, to exchange professional expertise and provide updates on the latest advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

From August 19 to 21, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 2nd International Thalassemia Conference, gathering 25 international delegates from 12 countries along with over 200 domestic doctors and experts.

On the morning of August 11, leaders of Hue Central Hospital said the hospital had held a discharge ceremony for patient N.T.L., 34, from Quang Ngai Province, who recently underwent the hospital’s 24th heart transplant. After nearly two months of intensive treatment, the patient has made a good recovery, with stable health indicators, and was deemed fit to return home.

On August 6th, Quang Dien Commune Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, in coordination with Hue Central Hospital Blood Transfusion and Hematology Center, organized the second voluntary blood donation campaign of 2026.

On July 20, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 7th Imperial City Eye Meeting 2026 (ICEM 2026) under the theme “From Fundamentals to Challenges in Surgery.” Taking place from July 20 - 22, the event brings together over 200 ophthalmologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from Vietnam and abroad to discuss the latest advances in ophthalmology, strengthen international collaboration, and enhance the quality of eye care services for the public.

On June 29 and 30, the Odonto - Stomatology Center at Hue Central Hospital, in collaboration with the Smile Train Vietnam, organized a comprehensive examination and consultation program for patients with cleft lip and cleft palate.

On June 22nd, Hue Central Hospital announced that patient P.M.D. (41 years old, residing in My Thuong Ward, Hue City), who received a heart transplant from a deceased brain-dead donor, had made a good recovery and was discharged from the hospital. This was the 23rd successful heart transplant performed at the hospital and the last of six recipients who received organs and tissues from the same brain-dead donor to be discharged.
