Nearly 100 trainees attend the 21st Vietnam - Australia Hand Surgery Training Course
HNN.VN - On September 29, Hue Central Hospital organized the 21st Vietnam - Australia Hand Surgery Training Course, bringing together hand, wrist, and rehabilitation surgery specialists from Australia.

The training course, held from September 28 to October 2, has drawn nearly 100 trainees from provinces and cities across the country, along with 2 international trainees from Samoa and Fiji. As part of the program, more than 30 patients received examinations, consultations, and specialist case discussions.
The Vietnam - Australia Hand Surgery Training Course has been held since 2004.
This year’s course focuses on 3 main areas, including: hand surgery and microsurgical techniques; wrist arthroscopy; and post-operative hand rehabilitation. The training combines specialized lectures, case discussions, patient examinations and selection, live surgeries, and hands-on workshops.
The specialists from Australia worked with doctors from Hue Central Hospital to directly examine patients, discuss cases, and develop treatment plans for complex injuries involving the hand, wrist, peripheral nerves, brachial plexus, and upper limbs. The cases selected for surgery served as practical training scenarios, allowing trainees to directly discuss surgical indications and techniques, as well as post-operative rehabilitation.
