300 Residents in Phong Phu Ward Receive Free Medical Checkups and Cancer Screenings
HNN.VN - On the morning of September 26, Hue Central Hospital, in coordination with the city’s Cancer Association, organized a free health checkup and cancer screening program for 300 residents in Phong Phu ward.

Supported by the U.S.-based DOVE Fund, the program focused on people affected by Agent Orange and Agent Orange victims in the ward. The initiative gave residents a chance to access healthcare services, while helping detect health problems early and ensure timely care and treatment.
As part of the program, 300 local residents underwent general medical checkups conducted by doctors from Hue Central Hospital, including abdominal, thyroid, and breast ultrasounds, X-rays chest , AFP and blood tests. Women also received screenings for cervical and breast cancer.
Through the checkups and screenings, people showing abnormal signs were given medical advice and referred for further examination and appropriate treatment, thereby preventing their conditions from worsening due to late detection.
Held throughout September 2026, the program is being carried out in three localities, including Phong Dien, Phong Dinh and Phong Phu wards. So far, the support has provided medical checkups and screenings for over 1,000 residents.
