On the afternoon of November 5, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Phan Thien Dinh, together with Member of the Standing Committee and Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City Nguyen Thi Ai Van, received support from the Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City to help Hue City overcome the impacts of recent floods.

Amid Hue’s unpredictable weather, there exists a quiet yet persistent “green-shirt army” - a group always ready to appear whenever a colleague is in trouble. They are the Hue SOS 247 - Grab Hue team, drivers who brave the weather day and night to rescue broken-down vehicles and help fellow riders in distress. All of it stems from one simple reason: to help one another on every road.

The event titled “Hue - Innovation for Sustainable Development” (Hue Innovation Day 2025) and the forum “Developing Private Economy in Connection with Heritage Economy Development in Hue” were recently held, opening new perspectives on harnessing heritage values as an economic resource. On the afternoon of November 4th, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, together with the Standing Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, received a donation of 1 billion VND from Cotana Group to support post-flood recovery efforts. ​

A section of Hue Imperial Citadel wall collapsed after days of heavy rain and flooding. The fallen section, about 15 meters long, is located on the northern side of Hue Imperial City, next to the park along Dang Thai Than Street (Phu Xuan Ward).

As the floodwaters receded, mud and scattered trash are left everywhere. These days, workers from Hue Urban Environment and Public Works Joint Stock Company (HEPCO) are straining themselves amid the smell of mud, murky water, and trash to restore the city's clean appearance.

On the afternoon of November 2, a working delegation from the Ministry of Health, led by Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen, Standing Deputy Head of the Civil Defense Steering Committee of the Ministry of Health, visited and worked with Hue Central Hospital to inspect the hospital’s efforts in responding and overcoming the aftermath of the floods.

On Facebook, amid the flood of news and images of inundation, among the urgent rescue and relief efforts by authorities and functional forces, I came across an image that warmed my heart: hot meals being packed and prepared for their journey from the area of fomer Phu Thuan to Hue Central Hospital, to be given to hungry patients trapped by the floods.
