At the ceremony, Mr. Emmanuel Kasarhérou, President of the Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Museum, expressed his expectation that the agreement would create opportunities to share the museum’s valuable collections, thereby contributing to heritage conservation efforts in Hue.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, emphasized that the agreement will help Hue gradually access valuable documents on Can Chanh Palace, as well as the Nguyen Dynasty court costumes. This will serve as an important foundation for the city and Hue Monuments Conservation Center to continue research and restoration of Can Chanh Palace and elements related to royal fine arts.

“During the 5-year cooperation period (2026 - 2030), the city aims to expand collaboration across multiple fields, focusing on digitizing the Nguyen Dynasty documents and images; supporting restoration and conservation work; as well as enhancing communication efforts and promoting the heritage of Vietnam and Hue,” said Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang.

The cooperation agreement also extends to activities such as professional exchanges, the sharing of research experience, and the application of technology in conservation. Both sides plan to collaborate in utilizing these materials for exhibitions and displays, especially digital exhibitions, to serve the public.

The Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Museum is one of France's major museums, specializing in collecting, preserving, and showcasing non-European cultural artifacts, with an extensive network of partnerships. The establishment of cooperation with Hue is considered a concrete step in connecting global knowledge resources for heritage conservation.
