At the heart of the Imperial City of Hue, the 180-year-old Co Mat Vien (Supreme council for military and major state affairs of the Nguyen Dynasty) is gradually being revitalized in a new guise. Formerly the seat of the highest decisions of the Nguyen Dynasty, the space is being shaped into a center for creativity, education, and heritage experiences for the community.

On the morning of January 1, the Department of Tourism organized a ceremony to welcome the first flight and tourists to Hue by air at Phu Bai International Airport, and a ceremony to welcome the first cruise ship and tourists to Hue by sea at Chan May Port.

As 2025 draws to a close, the Song2Light Creative Market officially returned for Season 3 under the title “Huederland”, taking place from December 26-28 at Song Centre Hue. The event brought a range of unique and engaging experiences.

On the afternoon of December 18, Hue wrestling shone brightly after securing a hat-trick of 3 gold medals in the women’s freestyle events, marking a remarkable feat not only at the SEA Games arena.

“Vietnam Sports Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism) has just issued a decision to establish Vietnam Sports Delegation for SEA Games 33, in which Hue sports contributes 1 coach and 7 athletes,” said Bui Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture & Sports on the afternoon of November 28th. ​

As Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20th) approaches, many teachers in flood-stricken areas are still busy battling natural disasters. Flood after flood, they persistently cling to their schools and classrooms, visiting each disadvantaged student to offer support and encouragement. In these difficult places, their work is quiet yet unwavering – just like their love for the profession and affection for their students, which never runs dry.

The northeast monsoon winds sweep in, bringing rolling, white-capped waves surging over the Ngu Dien coast, signaling that the rough sea season has reached its height. When the sea momentarily calms, it is also the time local fishermen set out on their arduous voyages to earn a living at sea, braving countless lurking dangers behind every wave.

After the historic flooding season in late October 2025, while various areas were still deeply submerged in water, thousands of workers had to temporarily stop working, businesses in Hue City promptly stepped in to share the burden, from providing cash support, salary advances, and safe accommodations to help workers overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize production.
