On the afternoon of June 19, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Member of Hue Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, held a working session with the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to discuss cooperation on investment promotion and expanding air connectivity, contributing to effectively operate Terminal T2 of Phu Bai International Airport.

On the afternoon of May 21, the leader of Phu Bai International Airport announced that Terminal T2 at Phu Bai International Airport in Hue City was honored with the Gold Award in the category of “Special Architectural Works”. It also received the “For the Development of Architecture” award at the 2024 - 2025 National Architecture Awards ceremony held on the evening of May 20 in Hanoi.

At noon on May 14, at Phu Bai International Airport, teachers and students of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted welcomed Tran Le Thien Nhan and Tran Trung Hieu, two students of the school who just won medals at the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2025.

On April 21st, the International Medical Quarantine Department of Hue City Center for Disease Control (Hue CDC) carried out the cleaning, maintenance, and operation of two SATIR CK350-F remote temperature screening systems installed at Phu Bai International Airport.

On February 14th, the Gulfstream G650ER private jet, bearing the registration VN-A968, carrying several passengers, landed at Phu Bai International Airport. This aircraft is considered one of the most beautiful private jets in Southeast Asia as of now.

On the morning of January 1, Hue City Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Central Region Airport Authority at Phu Bai International Airport, Phu Bai International Airport, and the Vietnam Airlines branch in Hue, along with Pacific Airlines organized a program to welcome the first flight and visitors to Hue City in 2025. Attending the event was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee.

Moving beyond charter flights, Thua Thien Hue is establishing a regular flight route with Taiwan (China) to Phu Bai International Airport, expected to start in early September 2024.

On the morning of March 26, the groundbreaking ceremony for the EON Industry Vietnam helmet manufacturing factory was held at Gilimex Industrial Park (Phu Bai Ward, Huong Thuy Town). The project is invested by EON Industry Vietnam Co., Ltd., a member of EON helmet group.

The first tourists arriving in Hue stepped off at Phu Bai International Airport with radiant smiles with the welcoming gestures from the local tourism industry, signaling positive signs for the smoke-free industry in the ancient capital.

Since the opening of Terminal 2 at Phu Bai International Airport in April 2023, Thua Thien Hue has been able to operate international routes, though primarily in the form of charter flights. Developing these into regular commercial flights with stable frequency requires time and appropriate solutions.
