Hue welcomes 2 Asian Physics Olympiad medalists home

HNN.VN - At noon on May 14, at Phu Bai International Airport, teachers and students of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted welcomed Tran Le Thien Nhan and Tran Trung Hieu, two students of the school who just won medals at the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2025.

Immediately after the conclusion of the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2025 held in Saudi Arabia, Tran Le Thien Nhan (a 12th-grade student specialized in Physics 2) and Tran Trung Hieu (a 12th-grade student specialized in Physics 1), along with their teachers, returned to Vietnam and arrived in Hue at noon on May 14. After a long flight, Tran Le Thien Nhan and Tran Trung Hieu were very happy with warm welcome from their families, teachers, and friends.

The 25th Asian Physics Olympiad was held from May 4 to 12 in Dhahran City, Saudi Arabia. The competition saw the participation of 30 teams from 29 countries and territories with 208 contestants.

Participating in this competition, Tran Le Thien Nhan won a Silver Medal and Tran Trung Hieu won a Bronze Medal, together with other members of the national team, making Vietnam one of the top 5 countries with the highest achievements.

Along with biology and informatics, physics is a subject in which Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted has achieved many medals at International Olympiads. To date, Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted has won 8 awards at the International Physics Olympiad and the Asian Physics Olympiad; including 1 Gold Medal, 1 Bronze Medal, and 1 Consolation Prize at the International Physics Olympiad; and 2 Silver Medals, 2 Bronze Medals, and 1 Consolation Prize at the Asian Physics Olympiad.
