With the determination of becoming one of the leading smart cities in Vietnam, Hue is making lots of progress in digital transformation, from developing its digital economy to raising the quality of life for its people, opening up many opportunities for sustainable development.

On the morning of May 14th, the People’s Committee of Quang Dien district held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of City-level historical site Classification for Ba To shrine, located in Quang Phu Commune.

Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh has requested relevant departments, agencies, and local authorities to continue close coordination, urge progress in implementation, and resolve difficulties and obstacles in site clearance for projects, and strive to complete the set goals in 2025.

On May 10th, Hue - Urban Plastic Reduction in Central Vietnam Project (TVA Project), in coordination with the Department of Tourism and People's Committee of Thuy Thanh Commune (Huong Thuy Town), held the launch ceremony for the low-plastic tourism site at Thanh Toan tiled-roof bridge.

That is the conclusion by experts in the process of preparing the dossier for recognition of the new rice welcoming festival of the Co Tu people in Nam Dong, Phu Loc, Hue as national intangible cultural heritage.

Often compared to a “land of a thousand pines” in the heart of Hue, the two hills of Thien An and Vong Canh consistently captivate visitors with their poetic, romantic scenery. Already crowded on regular days, during the holidays they attract even more people who come to breathe in the fresh air and immerse themselves in the lush natural surroundings.

From May 4 to 13, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) is coordinating with the People's Committee of Hue City, Tourism Development Support Fund, Vietnam Airlines, and partners to organize a program introducing Vietnamese tourism, traditional craft villages, and cuisine, and connecting businesses on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 in three European countries, including Italy, Switzerland, and France.

Appearing during the revolutionary movement in 1940 in the South, the red flag with yellow star – a particularly sacred symbol of Vietnam– is closely associated with the Vietnamese People’s history of defence and preservation of national independence, as well as the renewal and development process, standing shoulder to shoulder with great powers across the five continents.

On the morning of April 26th, the People’s Committee of Phong My Commune, Phong Dien Town, officially launched the O Lau Upriver Ecotourism Site (Ham Heo). This community tourism site was previously recognized by the provincial government under Decision No. 954/QD-UBND dated March 28th, 2021.

In the festive atmosphere of the “Colors of Spring in the Highlands” celebration in A Luoi, amidst the “tung tung da da” dances and echoing gong sounds, I was fortunate to witness a special ritual of the Co Tu people - the An Ninh Pa Nua festival. This is one of their ancient traditional ceremonies, expressing the sacred feelings of the bride’s family toward the groom’s family after many years of being in-laws.
