As part of the Lantern Festival under the theme “The Golden Light of the Dharma - Cultural Convergence, Spreading Peace”, thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists, locals, and visitors joined in offering prayers before taking part in the ritual of releasing floating lanterns onto the Huong River.

Hue City is the urban area with the highest density of trees in the country, with more than 64,000 trees lining its streets, parks, and lush green garden houses. These trees are cared for and protected by both local authorities and residents, beautifying the city while serving as a natural shield that brings a refreshing sense of coolness during the scorching summer heat.

More than just a series of promotional activities showcasing one of the world’s most beautiful bays, the program “Lang Co – World Beautiful Bay 2026” reflects the local community’s aspiration to build a green, civilized, and environmentally friendly tourism destination, with local communities and indigenous values serving as the foundation for sustainable development.

In recent days, the road leading to Ha Cang, now part of Dan Dien Commune (formerly Quang Phu Commune), has been busier than usual, as streams of visitors arrive to explore local golden cantaloupe farms. Coming here, visitors can enjoy free check-in opportunities, try freshly harvested melons right in the greenhouses, and leave with not only vibrant photos but also plump, fragrant cantaloupes to take home.

On June 1st, Hue City Association of the Blind, in collaboration with Sao Mai Center for the Blind, organized a training program on job application preparation and teamwork skills for visually impaired students, university students, and young association members in the locality.

No longer operating on a small, fragmented scale, many cooperatives (Co-op) in suburban areas of Hue City are transforming their mindset, expanding their operations, improving product quality, and gradually establishing a stronger presence in the market.

On the occasion of the Vesak celebration for Buddhist Era 2570 (2026 CE), on the morning of May 29th, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, led a delegation representing the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to visit and extend congratulations to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hue City and Buddhist dignitaries in the locality.

On the morning of May 26th, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan led a field survey of the Tam Giang lagoon area, mangrove forests, and coastal infrastructure in the eastern part of the city to assess the potential for developing ecotourism and community-based tourism associated with conserving natural ecosystems and improving local livelihoods.

Compared to many other coastal localities, Hue’s sea possesses a distinctly unique beauty, gentle and captivating in its simplicity and softness. In recent years, that beauty has become even more alluring thanks to the new coastal road and the recently completed bridge spanning the Thuan An estuary. From there, visitors coming to Hue can begin their journey from the clear blue waters of Lang Co Bay, travel along breezy coastal roads through Vinh Thanh, Thuan An, and Hai Duong, before continuing toward the peaceful seaside area of Quang Dien.

On May 22, the City People’s Committee, in coordination with the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev) and WWF-Vietnam, organized the conference on “Unlocking Green Investment for Nature-based Development in Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon”, with the participation of representatives from Central and local ministries and agencies, international organizations, investment funds, and development partners.

Before the summer break, Tran Quoc Toan Primary School organized a bicycle parade called "Cycling towards Van Thanh relic" for students. Early in the morning, more than 100 students, along with many parents and teachers, cycled through the picturesque roads along the Huong River.
