Just one year after becoming the country’s sixth centrally governed municipality, Hue City has begun a new and more dynamic development journey. A series of key transport infrastructure projects have been invested in and completed, contributing to a transformation of the urban landscape and opening up numerous opportunities for local socio-economic development.

The city has undergone a process of accumulation and infrastructure investment, transforming its urban landscape. Completed urban infrastructure projects have largely met the requirements for connecting the central urban area with satellite towns, creating momentum for the city’s socio-economic development.

Successive floods have inflicted severe damage on irrigation infrastructure while directly disrupting the livelihoods of thousands of households. What are the most effective ways to respond? On this issue, Hue Today Weekend held an interview with Dang Van Hoa, Director of the Hue City Sub-department of Irrigation and Climate Change.

Hue’s transportation and urban infrastructure have undergone significant changes in recent times, with a series of large-scale key projects being invested in and implemented, opening up new connectivity spaces for the city.

Since the operation of the two-tier local government model, Hue Intelligent Operations Center (HueIOC), along with Hue-S super application has become the core infrastructure for the operating work of Hue City. The system not only helps the government operate efficiently and transparently, but also plays the role of an inter-level coordination axis, ensuring data is connected uniformly and citizens' feedback is processed quickly and accurately.

The recent floods caused severe damage not only in lowland areas but also in mountainous regions. Local authorities are making every effort to repair infrastructure and supply food and clean water to isolated communities.

Over the years, Hue University and its member institutions have ceaselessly improved and upgraded infrastructure quality to meet the needs of educational innovation following the orientation of modernization and integration.

After the national reunification, Thanh Thuy, Phu Bai, and Huong Thuy wards (formerly Huong Thuy Town), once purely agricultural with virtually no urban infrastructure, have undergone sweeping changes, worthy of their role as the southern growth engine of centrally governed Hue City.

On the evening of September 1st, in Vy Da Ward, Hue City People’s Committee held the inauguration ceremony for the technical infrastructure component of the Hue City Cultural and Sports Square project.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), as well as the celebration of the 17th Party Congress of Hue City, term 2025 – 2030, on the morning of August 19, Hue City People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for 4 technical infrastructure projects for relocation areas and cemeteries to support land clearance for the high-speed rail project along the North-South route passing through Hue City.

After the renovation of Thuy Tien Lake Water Park (Thuy Bang Ward) and the comprehensive investment in transportation infrastructure in Thien An and Vong Canh Hill areas, by early 2025, visitors and locals alike will be amazed by the fresh and visually appealing landscape of this area.
