On the night of August 1, the opening ceremony of the 4th ‘Hue Sports Festival’ 2026, a sports festival for community health, was held at Tu Do Stadium.

On August 1st (the 19th day of the sixth lunar month, Year of the Horse), the Executive Board of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) - Hue City officially opened the Guanyin Festival at the Guanyin Buddhist Spiritual Tourism Center on Tu Tuong Mountain in Thuy Xuan Ward, Hue City. ​

The book titled ‘Le Trai Dang Van Hoa - His life and legacy’ is a curated collection of valuable research papers and academic presentations presented in Hue in October 2025.

After more than three weeks, the training program on Hue-Singing (Ca Hue) performance skills for more than 180 music teachers from primary schools across Hue City, organized by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, concluded on the afternoon of July 31.

On the morning of July 31, at the Southern Women’s Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, the Tran Van Khe Scholarship Foundation held the announcement and award presentation ceremony for the 2026 Tran Van Khe Awards. Notably, the Hue Royal Traditional Arts Theatre was one of only two organizations honored in recognition of its outstanding contributions to the preservation, research, and promotion of Vietnam’s traditional music.

Once lost, Kim Hoang folk paintings are gradually making a comeback thanks to the effort of artisan Nguyen Thi Binh. Recently, those paintings have been exhibited and introduced to the public in Hue.

At the 2nd Special Session of the 9th Hue City People's Council for the 2026 - 2031 term, which opened on the afternoon of July 26th, delegates approved two key resolutions: a list of six transport infrastructure projects to be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, and a policy providing free general education textbooks beginning with the 2026 - 2027 academic year.

On July 30, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang had an official meeting with Mr. Ha Jungil, the newly appointed Consul General of South Korea in Danang.

“Hue City is committed to standing alongside businesses by fostering a transparent, convenient, and stable investment environment, while promptly addressing challenges and obstacles so that investors can confidently establish a long-term presence in the city”. That was the message delivered by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, and Head of the city's National Assembly Delegation, at an investment promotion discussion between Hue City and Chinese enterprises held on the afternoon of July 29th.

On the morning of July 29, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh welcomed Ms. Dong Biyu, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Danang, and members of her delegation on a farewell visit marking the conclusion of her diplomatic tenure in Vietnam.
