The first “Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Mountainous Ethnic Groups” of Hue City in 2026 is part of the “Summer Festival” program of Hue Festival 2026. It is held periodically and rotates among localities where ethnic minority communities settle and live.

On April 5, the People’s Committee of Hoa Chau Ward officially opened the 1st Sports Festival for the 2025-2026 period. The event drew strong participation from a wide range of groups, including residential quarters, schools, and armed forces units, with the partaking of outstanding athletes who have achieved notable results at both city and national levels.

On a pure morning, I bumped into groups of visitors strolling along the path leading into Hue Imperial Citadel. From early 2026, in addition to maintaining current ticket prices, Hue City will significantly expand the groups eligible for free and discounted entrance fees to heritage sites within the Hue Complex of Monuments. The move aims to facilitate access to heritage for residents and students, and to promote sustainable tourism demand.

Following severe floods, numerous relief convoys, volunteer groups, and meaningful gifts have been delivered directly to people in deeply flooded areas in Hue. Despite having a thin workforce with increasingly older age groups, Hue’s young artists continue to make their mark on Vietnam's artistic map. On the morning of August 18, the People's Committee of Phu Loc Commune, in collaboration with Hue City Department of Health and a sponsoring unit, launched a safe swimming class for children aged 6 to 15. The class attracted 300 participating students, divided into 15 groups.
