Following the Buddha bathing ceremony at Dieu De National Pagoda, thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhists joined the Buddha procession to Tu Dam Ancestral Pagoda. This is one of the important ceremonies held annually during the Vesak.

On the evening of May 30, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University, held the final round of the 7th Science Innovation and Agricultural Startup Idea Competition 2026, drawing the participation of lecturers, students, scientists, and business representatives.

On May 30, the 2026 Imperial City Scientific Conference on infectious diseases was held at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University. The event attracted nearly 250 delegates and almost 20 leading experts in infectious diseases, microbiology, and tropical diseases from across Vietnam.

As part of the celebrations for Vesak 2570 (Buddhist Era) and Hue Festival 2026, the Vegetarian Food Festival - Hue Festival 2026 officially opened on the afternoon of May 28th (the 12th day of the fourth lunar month) at the riverside area along the Perfume River. The event is jointly organized by the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hue City and the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2026.

On the occasion of the Vesak celebration for Buddhist Era 2570 (2026 CE), on the morning of May 29th, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, led a delegation representing the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to visit and extend congratulations to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hue City and Buddhist dignitaries in the locality.

From the evening of May 29 to May 31, 2026, the first “Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of mountainous ethnic groups” is being held in the communes, namely A Luoi 1, A Luoi 2, and A Luoi 3.

On the morning of May 29, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the project “Hue - A plastic-reduced smart city in Central Vietnam” (TVA) project/WWF-Viet Nam, organized the event “From Check-in Green Hue to Plastic-Free Tourism - A Journey of Spreading”.

On the evening of May 29, at Bao Vinh Ancient Town (Hoa Chau Ward), the City People's Committee organized the launching ceremony for the Action Month for Children 2026 under the theme “Happy and safe children confidently stepping into the digital era”.

On the morning of May 29, the Department of Tourism announced that Hue Lotus Festival 2026 will take place from June 19 to 21 under the theme “Ngu lien thuc thuy” (Royal Lotus Awakens the Water). Featuring a wide range of cultural, artistic, and culinary activities as part of Hue Festival 2026, the event is expected to become a vibrant summer attraction for both residents and visitors.
