Infectious diseases remain one of the major groups of illnesses affecting public health in Vietnam. In recent years, many dangerous infectious diseases such as dengue fever, avian influenza, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and COVID-19 have continued to develop in complex ways. In addition, the re-emergence of diseases such as measles, diphtheria, and poisoning caused by Clostridium botulinum, along with the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance, has posed significant challenges to the healthcare system.

Following the success of previous infectious disease conferences held in 2016, 2019, 2021, and 2024, the 2026 Imperial City Scientific Conference on Infectious Diseases was organized to share and update the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious and tropical diseases.

Scientific presentations at the conference focused on a range of timely topics, including sepsis and antimicrobial resistance; dengue fever and zoonotic diseases; chronic hepatitis B and the early prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma; as well as parasitic infections and emerging tropical diseases.

The conference serves as an important scientific forum to strengthen professional collaboration and disseminate the latest achievements in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. It also contributes to enhancing the capacity of the healthcare system in Vietnam’s Central and Central Highlands regions amid the continuing complexity of emerging infectious disease threats.
