May 16, 2025 saw a range of activities in Hue to commemorate the 200th birth anniversary of renowned cultural luminary Dang Huy Tru. The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, in collaboration with the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Hue City, held a seminar titled "Commemorating the 200th Birth Anniversary of Cultural Luminary and Founder of Vietnamese Photography Dang Huy Tru ."

This information was shared by the organizing committee of Mega Booming Music Festival - Hue 2025 on the morning of May 22. They stated that over 13,500 tickets had already been distributed and sold through ticketing platforms as well as the program’s partners.

On May 19, the ceremony of signing sponsorship between the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2025 and Carlsberg Vietnam was held at Hue City People’s Committee. Accordingly, the Huda beer brand will continue to be the Platinum Sponsor of Hue Festival 2025 with a total sponsorship of up to 9.5 billion VND.

After a day of lively and intense competition, the 2025 Hue University (HU) Open Chess and Chinese Chess Tournament for students, organized by Hue University Student Association, ended on the afternoon of May 18th.

On May 19, in Phu Loc district, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization of Hue City, in coordination with Hue Central Hospital and the People's Committee of Phu Loc district, organized the opening ceremony of the 8th “Red Journey - Red Drops of Hue” program in 2025. On May 17th, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held a Science Café event themed: “Digital transformation and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine.”

The AFC Grassroots Football Festival 2025 took place on the afternoon of May 16 at Tu Do Stadium, Hue City. This activity aimed to promote sustainable development through gender equality, creating a playground where all children, genders, and different circumstances could participate.

Nearly 100 students from primary schools, art centers, and gifted drawing classes across Hue City came together to take part in an art festival themed “Loving Family”. The event was organized by Hue Museum of Fine Arts on May 17th at Ho Chi Minh Memorial House (Duong No Ward, Thuan Hoa District).

On May 17, the Mobile Police Division of Hue City Police Department announced that three officers from the unit had promptly donated blood, successfully helping to save a patient suffering from blood cancer who was in critical condition at Hue Central Hospital.
