This year's competency assessment examination was held across 73 examination rooms at three locations, including Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, Chu Van An Secondary School, and Quang Trung Primary School. In the morning, candidates completed a written Vietnamese Language test (60 minutes), followed in the afternoon by a Mathematics test (60 minutes) and a Foreign Language test (45 minutes).
For the academic year 2026 - 2027, Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School has been allocated 360 enrollment slots. Since the number of registered applicants exceeded this quota, the Department of Education and Training organized an admission process combining profile screening and a written competency assessment. Compared to last year, the number of registered applicants for this year’s assessment increased by nearly 300.
To be eligible for the assessment, students must have completed the primary school curriculum with an academic performance rated as “excellent” from Grade 1 to Grade 5. Additionally, their combined year-end exam scores in Vietnamese Language and Mathematics at Grade 5 must be 19 points or higher.
Candidates must complete all 3 written tests, including Vietnamese Language, Mathematics, and Foreign Language; strictly comply with the examination regulations, and must not receive a score of zero in any test.
