On the 10-acre field of red chiem rice (a traditional red rice grown in brackish lowlands of Hue City, sown by April and harvested by July), each planting season requires 40 to 50 hired laborers, and the harvest stretches over several days. Left untended and unfertilized, the rice grows naturally under the generous sun and rain. Some call it “heaven’s rice” — a variety grown from the grace of Tam Giang’s waters.

In the context of digital transformation becoming an inevitable trend, businesses must incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations as a pressing requirement to enhance labor productivity and boost business efficiency.

On November 5, the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs coordinated with Fédération Handicap International (Humanity & Inclusion) (HI) in Vietnam held a conference to run the project “Enhancing access to information and employment opportunities for the handicapped through appropriate technology and digital applications” in the period of 2024 – 2027.

On the afternoon of September 27, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to evaluate the work of sending laborers abroad under contracts for the first nine months of the year and to outline tasks for the last three months of 2024. The conference also aimed to discuss and address questions from relevant units and service companies regarding the advantages, difficulties, and challenges in sending laborers abroad.

The Job Transaction Month with the theme of “September, the Autumn of Recruitment” in 2024 is being organized by the Provincial Employment Service Center from now until the end of September, to promote the connection between labor supply and demand in the province. The Job Transaction Month attracts nearly 1,000 students and workers to seek information, receive counseling, and apply for jobs in both in-person and online forms.

With his invention, young engineer Hoang Huu Dao (born in 1983, residing at 60 Phan Chu Trinh, Hue City) has supported the transportation of goods, liberating many workers and shippers across the country from labor. His product has by degrees grown and affirmed the “brand” with many convenient “Loc Phat (Prosperity) Motorbike Cargo Rack” lines.

On the evening of August 26, at the Provincial Labor Cultural House, the Alliance of Arts and Literature Association of Thua Thien Hue held a performance and recorded the dance and poetry program “Ganh hang rong xu Hue” (Street Vendors of Hue).
