On the evening of April 17, Hue City People’s Committee held a ceremony to honor and confer the title of “Honorary Citizen of Hue City” to Mr. Kang Bong Jun, a South Korean national, General Director of SMC Hue Co. Ltd., in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the locality’s socio-economic development and international cooperation.

On the morning of March 31, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan had a courtesy meeting with the working delegation of Daewon Group (South Korea), led by Mr. Cheun Eng Sik - Group’s Chairman.

After a three-week artist residency in Hue, on the afternoon of March 27, South Korean artist Sunyoung Park presented her artworks to the public in an exhibition titled “Nostalgia is not what it seems”.

On March 28, the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University hosted the Korean Language and Culture Festival 2026 in Central Vietnam - a gathering for Korean language training institutions across the region.

The first charter flight is expected in late March or April 2026, with Hue and its Korean partners planning to launch the inaugural Hue-South Korea charter flight in 2026, followed by efforts to establish regular scheduled service.

On February 3rd, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh held a courtesy meeting and working session with Mr. Oh Jungtaek, Acting Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Da Nang, who paid a visit to Hue on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.

On January 29 and 31, the tourism sector of Hue and Quang Tri organized a program to introduce their local tourism and promote the opening of direct air routes in Seoul (Jan 29) and Busan (Jan 31), the Republic of Korea (RoK).

On the afternoon of December 12, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung welcomed and had a meeting with a delegation from the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the Republic of Korea, led by Mr. Kim Seokki, Chairman of the Committee, during their courtesy visit to the city.

On November 19, Hue City Department of Health held a working session with a survey delegation from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to study and collect information for the development of the project of “Central Vietnam Healthcare Network Development”. This is considered an important initial step toward forming a large-scale cooperation project aimed at strengthening the healthcare system capacity in the Central region.

On the morning of October 15, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Song Ho-jun, Deputy Mayor of Gyeongju City (Korea).
