The program is one of Hue City’s flagship international tourism promotion initiatives in 2026, contributing to realizing its vision of building the brand name ‘Hue - Land of Happiness’ and positioning the city as a special destination for culture, heritage, and tourism in Asia.

A highlight of the working visit was a pair of roadshows showcasing Hue’s culture, tourism, cuisine, and traditional craft villages, held at The Korea House in Seoul on July 18 and F1963 Square in Busan on July 20, 2026.

The two events combined business-to-business (B2B) tourism promotion with cultural experiences, offering a comprehensive showcase of Hue through business networking sessions, destination promotional videos, performances of Hue royal court music, Hue ao-dai fashion shows, exhibitions of traditional handicrafts, hands-on conical hat painting, and live demonstrations of Hue’s signature cuisine such as nam cakes, loc cakes, ram - it cakes, salted rice (com muoi)…, alongside a variety of other distinctive cultural experiences.

Through these roadshows, Hue City aims to provide its Korean partners with a deeper understanding of the locality’s tourism strengths, competitive advantages, and diverse tourism offerings, paving the way for expanded cooperation in tour development, the creation of tailor-made travel packages for the Korean market, and stronger two-way visitor exchanges.

In addition to its tourism promotion activities, the delegation from Hue City attended the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (WHC48), held in Busan on July 19, 2026.

The session was the world’s premier international forum in the field of conservation and promotion of World Heritage, bringing together UNESCO Member States, heritage experts, policymakers, and international organizations engaged in heritage preservation and management.

By participating in the session, Hue City underscored its commitment to safeguarding and promoting the values of the Complex of Hue Monuments and the city’s cultural heritage in line with sustainable development. The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the UNESCO Secretariat, and heritage cities worldwide in the fields of heritage conservation, cultural industries, and heritage tourism, while further reinforcing its position as one of Vietnam’s leading heritage centers and a prominent heritage destination in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to a representative of the Department of Tourism, during the visit, the delegation also held numerous working sessions with a number of key Korean partners to expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

Particularly, the delegation had a discussion with KX Group to explore investment opportunities in Hue’s cultural, tourism, and cultural industries sectors. The two sides further discussed the possibility of jointly promoting a direct air route between Hue and Incheon to facilitate travel and attract more South Korean visitors to Hue and Vietnam’s central region.

During the visit, the delegation also held a working session with the government of Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province to discuss cooperation in culture, tourism, and heritage preservation, while also paving the way for the development of friendly ties between the two localities. Furthermore, they also met with officials of Dongnae District in Busan to promote collaboration in cultural exchange, festivals, heritage conservation, and tourism development.

Notably, the delegation’s meeting with the Busan Film Commission has paved the way for cooperation in the film industry, particularly in promoting Hue as a filming destination through films, television productions, and digital media, bringing the city’s unique heritage and landscapes closer to audiences in South Korea and around the world.
