On the evening of July 8th, Hue City Tourism Association held a gathering to mark the 65th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam’s tourism sector (July 9th, 1960 – July 9th, 2025).

In addition to other potential markets, the tourism sector of the ancient capital is intensifying efforts in promotion, branding, and positioning Hue in European countries. Through a variety of unique programs and activities, Hue’s tourism industry hopes to see strong growth in visitor numbers from this key market in the near future.

Along with the recovery and growth in tourist numbers, the luxury travel segment within Vietnam’s tourism industry in general - and Hue’s in particular - is gradually gaining attraction. The “smokeless industry” of the ancient capital is showing many positive signs, suggesting that with proper investment, it could become an attractive destination for wealthy travelers.

According to the report of 2024 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) released by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) recently, Hue City made a strong impression by entering the top 10 localities with the best economic governance quality in the country, scoring a total of 71.13 points, ranking 6th out of 63 provinces and cities.

The National Tourism Year (NTY) - Hue 2025 represents a major opportunity for Hue’s tourism industry. The key issue is how to ensure that by the end of NTY, Hue gains significant “profit,” not only in visitor numbers.

To provide the activities of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 to tourists, the tourism industry of the Imperial Ancient Capital, along with other units and businesses, has developed a plan to promote and introduce the events in a focus way, reaching both domestic and international markets.

Hue University (HU) has set a vision for multi-disciplinary development, prioritizing seven key industry sectors and advancing high-tech, interdisciplinary education.

With the theme of “Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities”, Hue is meticulously gearing up, mobilizing all resources to ensure the success of the National Tourism Year and create enduring value for the tourism industry in the years to come.

On the afternoon of December 12th, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, had a meeting with Mr. Koyama Noriaki, Senior Executive Officer of Fast Retailing Group (UNIQLO).

On the afternoon of November 7, in the framework of the ASOCIO DX Award 2024 held by the Asian – Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) in Tokyo (Japan), Thua Thien Hue province was honored with ASOCIO Smart City Award.
