Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Alexander Sidoruk, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, described Hue as a picturesque city rich in tourism resources and one of Vietnam’s leading cultural and tourism hubs. Benefiting from its strategic location in central Vietnam, close to Danang and Khanh Hoa, Hue is well-positioned to strengthen connectivity and expand tourism cooperation with Belarus. Furthermore, visa exemption policies for citizens of both countries, coupled with existing air connections, create favorable opportunities to further promote tourism cooperation.

According to Ms. Anastasia Semashko, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Agency of Belarus, Vietnam and Belarus enjoy a close relationship, with Vietnam emerging as an increasingly developing tourism destination. Therefore, promoting connections, strengthening deeper exchanges, and enhancing cooperation would unlock new opportunities for tourism development between the two countries, especially between Hue and Belarusian localities.

Mr. Dinh Manh Thang, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association and Chairman of Hue Tourism Association, said that during a meeting held in Hue on April 24, 2026, the two sides exchanged preliminary information on the tourism sector, the operations of tourism association and agencies, the achievements of Hue’s tourism industry in 2025, as well as the first four months of 2026. These discussions laid an important foundation for deeper cooperation in the future.

During the seminar, participants gained deeper insights into the tourism sectors of both sides and exchanged discussions on potential B2B cooperation with tourism alliances, associations, and organizations. Based on these foundations, the two sides would make the plans for joint promotional campaigns to boost visitor flows from Hue to Belarus and vice versa.

With strong potential for tourism development on both sides and active support from Belarusian tourism authorities and industry organizations, it is expected that tourists will be attracted and tourism will be developed between the two sides.

To further advance the effectiveness of bilateral tourism cooperation, the representatives of the City Tourism Association proposed a number of specific areas of collaboration, including facilitating the launch of additional direct air routes between Vietnam and Belarus, stepping up destination promotion activities, and organizing famtrips and press trips to survey tourism attractions and products in both destinations.

Leaders of Hue City Tourism Association affirmed the commitment of Hue and Central Vietnam to jointly develop new tourism packages to stimulate demand in the early stages of cooperation. They also called government authorities and relevant agencies in both countries to continue to support tourism businesses in facilitating market promotion.
