On January 24th, at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, Hue City Department of Education and Training (DOET) organized the Secondary School Science and Engineering Competition for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Building on the results achieved in 2025, Hue City has set a growth target of over 10% per year for the 2026 - 2030 period. By 2030, the city strives to reach a growth rate of 11.5 - 12%, and a budget revenue of 28,000 - 30,000 billion VND.

On the morning of January 23, Hue City Red Cross Society, in coordination with Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Phu Loc and Vinh Loc Communes, organized a program to distribute Lunar New Year gifts for the Spring of Binh Ngo 2026 (the Year of Horse) to poor and near-poor households, families in difficult circumstances, and those severely affected by natural disasters in 2025 in Phu Loc and Vinh Loc Communes. On January 19, according to the information released by the Department of Tourism, Hue City was named “Domestic Destination of 2025” as part of the HOTLIST Travellive Editor’s Pick - an annual prestigious program launched and organized by Travellive Media Group to honor outstanding brands, destinations, and individuals for their positive contributions to the development of Vietnam’s tourism industry.

On the morning of January 18th, Hue Poetry Association organized a program to review the Association’s activities in 2025 and to launch the poetry collection “Returning to the Land of Huong Ngu”. This was an opportunity to reflect on the previous year's events while also presenting to the public a brand-new poetry anthology, the product of the Association's numerous lively creative and poetic exchange activities.

On the evening of January 16, Hue University held the 24th Nguyen Truong To Scholarship Award Ceremony for its students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

In 2025, Hue City Library served more than 1.2 million readers both in person and online. The library also issued over 5,700 library cards to readers.

On the afternoon of January 13, Hue City Department of Foreign Affairs held a ceremony to review its external relations work in 2025 and outline tasks for 2026.
