Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism opens first doctoral course in the Central region
HNN.VN - On July 17, in Hue City, the Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony for its K31 (2025 - 2028) doctoral course in the Central region. This is the Institute’s first doctoral training course held in the Central region.

The cohort consists of 9 doctoral candidates enrolled in two disciplines, including Theory and History of Fine Arts and Educational Studies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism, said that the Institute has always upheld the quality of training and practical outcomes as both the goals and key benchmarks for evaluating the success of its doctoral training programs.
Addressing the new doctoral candidates, Ms. Phuong noted that scientific research is a long-term journey requiring passion, perseverance, and academic fortitude. Becoming a doctoral candidate at the Institute also means joining an outstanding academic community with the responsibility to preserve, develop, and spread the values of science, culture, the arts, and physical education.
The Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism has trained more than 500 doctoral graduates. The Institute currently has 165 doctoral candidates enrolled in 5 disciplines, including Cultural Studies, Cultural Management, Theory and History of Fine Arts, Theory and History of Theatre, and Educational Studies (specializing in Physical Education and Sports).
