On the morning of July 28, the project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam”, funded by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) - Norway (through the WWF - Vietnam), received by Hue City People's Committee, in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Tourism, organized the inauguration of 5 waiting lounges and free water stations at tourist destinations, including: Thien Mu Pagoda, Bao Vinh Ancient Town, Ban Nguyet Bridge - Me Wharf, Vong Canh Hill, and Sinh Village wrestling area (Hue City).

On the evening of July 5th, the Department of Tourism organized the opening ceremony of Hue Lotus Festival 2024 with the theme “Returning to the land of the Royal Lotus” at Tu Tuong Park, Hue City.

According to the latest data from the Department of Tourism on the afternoon of June 13, the number of visitors to Hue by air and rail soared during Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024.

According to statistics from the Department of Tourism, it is estimated that 101,000 tourist arrivals visited and participated in various activities during Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 in the 7 days from June 6th to June 12th.

On the evening of April 19, at Hai Ba Trung pedestrian street (Hue City), the Provincial Department of Tourism organized the "Hue - Welcome Summer 2024" event. This event is part of the series of activities within Hue Festival 2024, with the aims to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome an attractive summer tourism season, as well as creating a media effect to attract visitors to Thua Thien Hue Province.

At the 20th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day event held in 2024 under the theme “20 years of thrilling journey” and accompanied by the program message “Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City” (from April 4th to 7th), the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue Province participated in various promotional and marketing activities.

On March 9th, the Department of Tourism, in cooperation with various departments, organized a program to experience the Hue - Da Nang tourism train.

The Department of Tourism has reported that during the Giap Thin Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon), the number of tourists visiting Hue for sightseeing and experiences has significantly increased compared to that of the same period in 2023, with many accommodation facilities fully booked during the festive days.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism, said that on the evening of January 26, within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), there was an award ceremony for the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Awards, taking place in Vientiane, Laos. The three cities representing Vietnam have been awarded (which will be effected from 2024 to 2026) namely: Hue (Thua Thien Hue Province), Vung Tau (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province), and Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh Province).

On January 10, the Provincial Department of Tourism coordinated with Vietjet Air, KX Group (South Korea), SMC Hue Co., Ltd. (South Korea), Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Vietravel Hue One Member Limited Company and related units to organize direct flights connecting Thua Thien Hue and Incheon (South Korea).
