This cooperation agreement marks an important milestone, laying a solid foundation for sustainable development, improving service quality, and increasing the competitiveness of Hue’s tourism sector in both domestic and international markets.

According to the memorandum, both parties will focus on key areas such as diversifying unique tourism programs and products that reflect the cultural and historical essence of Hue Ancient Capital.

Notably, collaboration in marketing and image promotion, along with support for the development and distribution of tourism products via the platform eticket.hueworldheritage.org.vn, are seen as a breakthrough step in bringing Hue's heritage closer to international tourists – particularly the South Korean market, one of Hue’s key target markets.

At the same time, the cooperation will prioritize support in planning, developing, and operating tourism programs implemented by NOL UNIVERSE in Hue, especially in group travel, hotel, and aviation. This partnership opens up numerous new opportunities, creating momentum for the development of a more diverse, professional, and appealing tourism service sector.

The agreement also aims to develop new tourism programs for Vietnamese tourists traveling to South Korea and vice versa, fully leveraging the potential of upcoming direct flights between Hue and South Korea. This is considered a pivotal step in strengthening trade connectivity, cultural exchange, and promoting bilateral tourism growth.

The memorandum was signed on the basis of long-term cooperation, with the goal of comprehensive tourism development in Hue City, and at the same time reflected a shared commitment to generating added value and contributing positively to the city’s socioeconomic development.

Vietnam’s oldest cadastral record preserved in Hue

Hue is a land that bears the imprint of the southward migration and territorial expansion undertaken more than 700 years ago by the people of ancient Thuan Hoa. Very few documents reveal the timing of these migration waves or the organization and formation of Vietnamese villages in the region. Yet during fieldwork, I gained access to several ancient Han-Nom documents recording the migration, land reclamation, and establishment of villages and communes. Most notably is a cadastral record dating to the 9th year of the Dai Hoa reign (1451) under King Le Nhan Tong, compiled exactly 575 years ago.
