Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU, dated October 12, 2026, issued by the Standing Board of the Hue City Party Committee on the development of Chan May - Lang Co urban area through 2030, with a vision to 2045, sets out a strategic direction: establishing a southern growth pole, expanding the city’s development space, and strengthening regional connectivity. For Hue, this is a step toward turning its locational advantages, natural resources, and scenic landscapes into development capacity, while fostering complementarity between the heritage city and the coastal urban area.

“With its advantages in geographical location, seaport infrastructure and regional connectivity, Hue City has considerable potential to develop its logistics sector,” said Do Thai Duong, Project Director of LEC Group at the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, in an interview with Hue Today Weekly.

On the afternoon of September 26, at Le Duc Anh Secondary School (Chan May - Lang Co Commune), the For Highland and Island Youth Fund and the ‘For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa’ Club, in coordination with Hue City Department of Education and Training, held a ceremony to award scholarships for the 2026 - 2027 academic year to ethnic minority students and students in coastal and island areas across the city.

At noon on September 13, Thua Thien Hue Maritime Port Authority said that the cargo ship STARCITY had been successfully towed away from the area where it ran aground in Binh An waters, Chan May Bay, Hue City.

On the afternoon of August 19th, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh led a delegation on a field trip to inspect investment and production activities at Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone and Phu Bai Industrial Park. Every decision on infrastructure investment must focus on long-term effectiveness, synchronization, and a clear roadmap, while having the capacity to create breakthroughs in socio-economic development,” Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh emphasized that at a meeting with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Management Board of Hue City Economic and Industrial Zones on August 12 to discuss infrastructure investment in economic zones, industrial parks, and industrial clusters, as well as investment attraction.

On the morning of July 25, Vietnam Pickup Truck Club (PVC), in coordination with SevenT Vietnam Co., Ltd. (the event operator), the People’s Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune, and relevant agencies, hosted the opening ceremony of Vietnam Pickup Festival 2026 (VPF2026).

On the evening of July 8, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Kim Joon, General Director of The Energy Consulting Group (South Korea), and other delegation members to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities for a green energy project in Chan May Port.
