On the morning of May 26th, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan led a field survey of the Tam Giang lagoon area, mangrove forests, and coastal infrastructure in the eastern part of the city to assess the potential for developing ecotourism and community-based tourism associated with conserving natural ecosystems and improving local livelihoods.

On May 23, the city People’s Committee, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund in Vietnam, held a Conference to review the “Hue – Plastic-reduced city in Central Vietnam” Project (TVA Project) for the 2021–2026 period.

On May 22, the City People’s Committee, in coordination with the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev) and WWF-Vietnam, organized the conference on “Unlocking Green Investment for Nature-based Development in Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon”, with the participation of representatives from Central and local ministries and agencies, international organizations, investment funds, and development partners.

The launch of direct flights from Belarus to Vietnamese localities, especially Da Nang, is opening opportunities to attract Belarusian tourists to Hue along the Central Heritage Road.

The activity was organized by Hue Central Hospital in coordination with Da Nang Charity Group for disadvantaged pediatric patients receiving treatment at the hospital on the occasion of International Children’s Day on June 1st.

Hue has been a centrally governed municipality for more than a year, making planning adjustments subject to many new requirements. Regarding this issue, Dr. Ngo Viet Nam Son, Architect, shared his perspectives with Hue Today Weekly on development thinking, regional connectivity, and long-term growth drivers for Hue heritage city.

On the morning of May 18th, at Hue Central Hospital, Vietnam Health Workers’ Union, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, held a ceremony to launch Workers’ Month 2026 and implement the emulation movement “Health Workers' Union accompanying the health of workers in the period 2026-2030”.

The 2021-2025 period can be regarded as one of the most extraordinary stages in the development history of Hue City. This was not merely a term of socio-economic development following a conventional trajectory, but rather a period of “running while lining up”: simultaneously coping with unprecedented shocks from the COVID-19 pandemic and global instability, while concentrating resources to realize the strategic goal of becoming a centrally governed municipality.

On the afternoon of May 15th, the People’s Committee of Phong Dien Ward organized the inauguration ceremony for a centralized organic waste treatment model using Que Lam microbial products at Pho Trach Market.

On May 15, the Sub-department of Irrigation and Climate Change under the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Vietnam, launched the project “Strengthening climate change resilience and adaptation capacity of urban areas in Central Vietnam”. The project is funded by the CRS (the USA).
