A Luoi specialties attracting tourists’ interest |
Right after the opening ceremony, the cooking contest took place lively with the participation of various teams from communes in the area of A Luoi district. In the framework of the contest, traditional dishes such as lam rice, grilled stream fishes, grilled meat in bamboo tubes, five-colored sticky rice, and A Quat cake were meticulously prepared, carrying the rich flavors of the mountains and forests.
The festival was also an opportunity to showcase products and introduce handicraft items such as zeng fabric, bamboo and rattan products, and ethnic musical instruments. Cooperatives and cooperative groups also participated in promoting community-based tourism activities, introducing homestay models and cultural experience tours. In particular, visitors could watch documentary footage about the natural scenery, people, and tourism potential of A Luoi.
Traditional cultural spaces became vibrant with activities reenacting the Ar Puc (Unity) festival, Zeng offerings, An Ninh, and important rituals of the Pa Co and Ta Oi people, which aimed at praying for peace and prosperity. In addition, activities such as making A Quat cakes, pounding rice, playing the khen (a traditional flute), and drumming with gongs attracted visitors to participate in the experience directly.
In the framework of the festival, traditional physical activities were also held lively at the front yard of the Communal House, with many games and traditional sports organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Both visitors and locals joined in the festive atmosphere of folk games, creating a cheerful and united spirit.
A Luoi highland market, which was held from March 28 to 29, offered a lively trading space with booths displaying Zeng brocade products, traditional cuisine, and local specialties.
Mr. Ho Dam Giang, Chairman of A Luoi District People’s Committee emphasized: “A Luoi Highland Spring Colors Festival” is not only an opportunity for ethnic groups to meet and interact, but also contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Through activities held to reenact festivals, introduce cuisine, and showcase handicrafts, we hope to promote A Luoi’s tourism potential and create a driving force to foster sustainable local economic development”.
The event this year also opens up opportunities for connecting and promoting the development of community-based tourism, as well as showcasing local products. The colorful activities continue to unfold, promising many exciting experiences for both visitors and locals.
