Students answered questions about dishes during Tet holiday

With the theme “The beloved land of Hue - Hue Tet Cuisine”, students participated in various activities such as reading, experiencing, enjoying cuisine, and recording their feelings.

After a warm-up activity of watching a video about the cuisine of Tet in Hue, students participated in a reading activity in the form of reading stations. The space of Hue Book and Culture Club was organized into 3 reading stations, each representing a dish, namely crystallized ginger, loc cakes (clear shrimp and pork tapioca dumpling), and phap lam-color cakes, along with 3 corresponding experiential spaces.

At each reading station, students read and recorded information on reading cards and overcame challenges by answering questions related to the origins, ingredients, recipes, and enjoyment of the dishes.

 Experiencing making phap lam-color cakes

The part that students enjoyed the most was experiencing making crystallized ginger, loc cakes , and phap lam-color cakes under the guidance of artisans. Before participating in the experience, students listened to artisans introduce the meaning of each dish, ingredients, and preparation process; after that, they were able to make crystallized ginger, loc cakes, and boxes for phap lam-color cakes themselves.

Having the opportunity to read, learn, experience, and enjoy Hue's dishes during Tet, the students were very excited and had many feelings. Nguyen Hoang Nam Thu, a student from class 4/2 at Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School, shared: “Today, I am very happy to learn about my hometown's cuisine during Tet. Being able to make crystallized ginger, make colorful phap lam-color cakes, and enjoy the flavor of the dish I made myself is a memorable experience. This helps me better understand the rich cuisine and cultural traditions of Hue.”

“Reading - experiencing in Hue cultural space” is an activity that Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School has organized for many years. After the first activity, this model will be shared and expanded, creating more diverse activities for Hue Book and Culture Club.
