In the youth championship, the U15 category includes weight classes ranging from 40kg to 80kg for male athletes and from 30kg to 75kg for female athletes. Meanwhile, the U17 group competes in weight classes from 45kg to 90kg for men, while female athletes compete in categories from 35kg to 75kg.

In the championship division, male athletes compete in nine events: 50-55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg, and over 90kg. For the women’s category, athletes compete in the following weight classes: 40-45kg, 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, and over 80kg.

At this year’s tournament, Hue wrestling team fielded 32 athletes. After a week of competition, the team delivered an impressive performance, securing 5 gold medals, 3 silvers, and 9 bronzes. The five gold medalists were Nguyen Thi My Hanh (65kg), Nguyen Thi My Trang (60kg), Nguyen Thi My Linh (55kg), Tran Dat (55kg), and Hoang Ngoc Trinh (75kg).

This achievement also helped the Hue wrestling team secure first place overall in the women’s beach wrestling championship division, while finishing third overall in the tournament standings, behind Bac Ninh and Thanh Hoa, due to a lower medal tally in the youth competition.

Given their outstanding results in the championship division, the Hue wrestling team has a strong chance of securing 2 to 3 slots to compete at the Beach Wrestling World Championship, which is scheduled to take place in Danang this May.
