Hue seeks international cooperation in strategic planning and smart urban development

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of March 16, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, held a working session with a delegation from the Fundación Metrópoli (Spain), led by its founder and President, Dr. Alfonso Vegara Gomez.

 The working session was conducted in both in-person and online formats

At the working session, representatives from the Fundación Metrópoli provided an overview of the organization and its international cooperation programs in strategic urban planning and territorial innovation. The organization is an internationally prestigious center for urban strategy research and design, specializing in consulting and proposing sustainable development models for various cities and territories worldwide, through integrated approaches to support urban transformation and promote sustainable development.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh highly evaluated the capabilities and experience of the Fundación Metrópoli - a European non-profit organization with over 30 years of operation in urban strategic design and territorial development. The organization has participated in numerous urban planning projects around the world and in Vietnam, including research and consultancy for the innovation district in the Eastern area of Hanoi.

The Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee suggested that the Fundación Metrópoli continue to study Hue City’s Master Plan to gain a deeper understanding of the local development orientation. On that basis, both sides can explore the potential for cooperation and mobilization of resources to serve the city's urban development in the coming time.

The leader of Hue City also expressed the desire to further strengthen exchanges and expand cooperation with the Fundación Metrópoli, while expecting to soon receive specific proposals from the organization to promote practical cooperation programs, contributing to the sustainable development of Hue, in harmony with heritage preservation and innovation in the coming period.
