Promptly Returning a Lost Handbag to a British Tourist

At around 11 a.m. on January 24, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (born in 1971, a resident of Thanh Thuy Ward) found a handbag containing a Kindle tablet and a passport in the name of Mr. Neil Samuel Evans (born in 1953, British nationality).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly promptly brought the recovered belongings to Vy Da Ward Police to report the incident and hand them over, requesting the authorities’ assistance in verifying the information and locating the owner.

Immediately after receiving the report, Vy Da Ward Police worked closely with the Immigration Management Division under Hue City Police to verify the identity of the property owner. Subsequently, Mr. Neil Samuel Evans was invited to the office to reclaim all of his lost property.

At the handover, Mr. Neil Samuel Evans expressed his emotion and joy, extending his sincere thanks to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly for her kind and commendable act. He also spoke highly of the sense of responsibility, professionalism, and timely support shown by Vy Da Ward Police and the Immigration Management Division of Hue City Police.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly’s action serves as a shining example of a noble way of life, contributing to the promotion of the image of Hue’s people as compassionate, honest, and civilized, while also highlighting the sense of responsibility and devotion to public service of the local police force.
