Welcoming the first tourists to Hue by air and sea

HNN.VN - On the morning of January 1, the Department of Tourism organized a ceremony to welcome the first flight and tourists to Hue by air at Phu Bai International Airport, and a ceremony to welcome the first cruise ship and tourists to Hue by sea at Chan May Port.

 Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, presented gifts to the first tourists to Hue by air in the new year

These events were organized by the Department of Tourism in coordination with relevant units to extend a warm welcome to the first tourists to Hue in the new year. Through these activities, the tourism sector aims to promote the culture, people, and tourism image of Hue Ancient Capital to domestic and international friends.

At exactly 7:00 AM on January 1, 2026, over 180 passengers on the flight VN1541 from Hanoi arrived at Phu Bai International Airport. The first group of passengers, along with the flight’s captain and chief flight attendant, were welcomed with flowers and New Year’s souvenirs by leaders of the City People's Committee, the Department of Tourism, the Tourism Association, Phu Bai International Airport, Middle Airports Authority at Phu Bai International Airport, and Vietnam Airlines office in Hue City.

Meanwhile, the program “Welcoming the first cruise ship and tourists to Hue by sea in 2026” was also organized meticulously and impressively.

The cruise ship, named ADORA MEDITERRANEA (Bahamas, operated by Adora Cruises), has a capacity of up to 2,680 passengers and 920 crew members. The cruise ship docked at 12:00 PM, and departed at 10:00 PM on the same day.

Tourists disembarking from the cruise ship at the stage of Chan May Port area were welcomed by leaders of Hue City People’s Committee, the Department of Tourism, Chan May Port Joint Stock Company, and coordinating units. They were presented with flowers and gifts; and posed for commemorative photos, and enjoyed welcoming unicorn dance performances.
