Honoring individuals with outstanding achievements at the 33rd SEA Games

Formerly the Intermediate School of Physical Education and Sports, the Center is currently training 240 athletes across 13 sports. In 2025, its athletes won a total of 747 medals at national and international competitions, including 76 international medals, in which there were 29 Gold medals, 23 Silver medals, and 24 Bronze medals. During the year, 88 athletes earned the National Master title, while 55 others were awarded Class I athlete status.
Among the athletes mentioned, notable standouts include Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong (jujitsu), who won 2 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal, and 1 Bronze medals at the Asian Youth Championships, as well as 1 Gold medal and 1 Silver medal at the World Championships and World Youth Championships; Nguyen Thi My Hanh, Nguyen Thi My Trang and Nguyen Thi My Linh (wrestling), who captured 3 Gold medals at the Southeast Asian Championships and 3 Gold medals at the 33rd SEA Games; Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh and Le Van Dong (shuttlecock kicking), who won 2 Gold medals at the Asian Shuttlecock Championships; Le Ha Khanh Linh, who claimed 3 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal, and 1 Bronze medal at the Asian Youth Chess Championships; and Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi, who secured 3 Gold medals at the National Archery Championships and set a national record.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the national teams, in 2025, coach Nguyen Van Hien was awarded the First-class Labor Order by the State President and selected to represent the city’s Culture and Sports sector at the National Patriotic Emulation Congress 2025. Athlete Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh was also honored with the First-class Labor Order, while coach Chu Minh Tuan received the Second-class Labor Order.
Additionally, athlete Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong is completing the required documentation for consideration for the First-class Labor Order; Nguyen Thi My Hanh is finalizing procedures for nomination for the Second-class Labor Order (for the second time); while Nguyen Thi My Trang and Nguyen Thi My Linh are preparing dossiers for consideration for the Third-class Labor Order.
On this occasion, referee Ngo Viet Phu (MMA); coach Chu Minh Tuan (jujitsu); and athletes Le Minh Thuan (karate); Nguyen Thu Huong and Van Suu (jujitsu); Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi (archery); and Nguyen Thi My Hanh, Nguyen Thi My Trang and Nguyen Thi My Linh (wrestling) were honored for their outstanding performances at the 33rd SEA Games. Notably, the three sisters My Hanh, My Trang, and My Linh, made continental sports history by simultaneously winning gold medals in freestyle wrestling at a single edition of the SEA Games.
