Hue Ju-Jitsu team wins 24 medals at regional championship

Hue Ju-Jitsu athletes and their achievements at the 2026 Southeast Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship and Junior Championship

The 2026 Southeast Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship and Junior Championship began on August 19th in Cambodia, attracting nearly 600 athletes from eight countries in the region. Vietnamese Jujitsu team competed with 185 athletes in the senior championship and U12, U14, U16, U18 and U21 age groups.

Although Hue sent only 11 athletes to the competition - significantly fewer than some other provinces and cities, including Dong Nai, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City, which sent between more than 20 and 40 athletes - Hue City Jujitsu team made an impressive contribution of 24 medals to the Vietnamese Jujitsu team's haul, including three gold, eight silver and 13 bronze medals. The three gold medals went to Le Van Bun (U18, 56kg Fighting), Che Cong Nhat (U18, 62kg Fighting) and Ma Van Cau (U14, 32kg Gi).

“Beyond the joy of winning medals, what matters is that the athletes from the Ancient Capital showed consistency across a range of events and age groups. In early October, seven key Hue Ju-Jitsu athletes are expected to attend a training camp in Hanoi in preparation for the upcoming 2026 National Sports Games,” Mr. Chu Minh Tuan said.
