 Sports movement spreading in schools

In 2025, school physical education and sports activities across the city continued to receive attention by the education sector, and be implemented synchronously; achieving many positive results, contributing to improving students' physical strength and stature while building a healthy school environment.

The Department of Education and Training directed educational institutions to strictly implement the prescribed physical education curriculum; innovate teaching, testing, and assessment methods so as to generate interest and avoid putting pressure on students. Morning exercises, mid-class exercises, and sports clubs have been regularly maintained, gradually spreading the movement of physical training among students.

Alongside the formal physical education curriculum, school sports activities were organized in diverse formats, and linked to traditional tournaments. During the academic year of 2024 - 2025, the Department of Education and Training collaborated with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize football, swimming, and athletics tournaments for students, attracting a large number of participants and receiving strong support from parents.

Entering the academic year of 2025 - 2026, the Education and Training sector of Hue City continues to promote the development of school sports. According to the plan, the City-level Traditional School Sports Tournament is expected to include three sports: football for high school boys, athletics, and swimming for elementary, middle, and high school students. The competitions at the grassroots level will run from January 15 to February 28, and competitions at the city level will take place from March 10 to April 30. Additionally, the students will participate in the 2026 National School Sports Tournament in three sports: table tennis, badminton, and athletics.
