Helping students understand themselves and their careers

HNN.VN - On the morning of July 15th, Hue Tourism College, in collaboration with IKIGAI International Soft Skills Training Center, organized the career orientation program “Understanding yourself, Understanding your career” to help students make solid steps when choosing vocational education at the intermediate level.

The program attracted teachers, students, and parents from 20 secondary and high schools in the province, along with representatives from various agencies, organizations, and businesses.

According to Mr. Pham Ba Hung, Principal of Hue Tourism College, the “Understanding yourself, Understanding your career” program is an important innovation to provide students and parents with a clear perspective on career paths. The program seeks to offer students with useful information about various professions, helping them identify their interests and abilities.

Many students and parents are currently unclear about choosing a suitable career path after graduating from 9th grade. Surveys indicate that a significant number of students choose to continue to high school without a clear career direction. This leads to students graduating from high school but lacking the necessary vocational skills to enter the labor market, wasting time and resources. Correct orientation from the beginning helps students take solid steps and better prepare for the future.

At the program, Hoang Duc Bao, a speaker with many years of experience in soft skills training, provided deep and practical insights into career choices with lots of challenges in the era of artificial intelligence. He discussed the necessary skills for the modern work environment. Specifically, he introduced professions in high demand such as tour guiding, hotel management, restaurant management, and culinary techniques, along with promising job opportunities for graduates, as evidenced by the success of alumni.

On this occasion, Hue Tourism College also signed cooperation agreements with several businesses in training, bringing many training and career opportunities to learners.
