After nearly 70 years of construction and development, Hue University has affirmed its position as a leading multi-disciplinary institution in the Central region of Vietnam, offering over 150 academic programs and expanding its quality accreditation system, with many programs meeting international standards.
Its workforce currently includes over 3,500 staff members, including over 1,000 PhD holders, and many scientists who have received prestigious awards such as Ho Chi Minh Prize, Kovalevskaia Award, and L’Oréal–UNESCO Awards.
The university has also expanded international cooperation with nearly 200 memoranda of understanding, improved its QS Asia ranking to 348 in 2025, and made increasingly significant contributions to science-technology and regional development.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung acknowledged the notable information and outstanding achievements that Hue University has attained in recent times. He emphasized that important resolutions, such as Resolution 54 of the Politburo and, most recently, Resolution 17 of the City Party Committee, set the goal of building Hue into a “green - smart - distinctive” city, in which the role of Hue University is extremely important. In the coming time, the two sides will hold more in-depth working sessions to address difficulties and seek fundamental solutions to effectively implement strategic objectives. The Secretary expressed his hope that Hue University will continue to uphold its tradition of unity and innovation, making worthy contributions to the city’s development.
In 2025, the city’s education sector will continue to maintain and enhance both specialized and general education quality, while promoting digital transformation and the application of technology in management and teaching.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung highly appreciated the sense of responsibility shown by the teaching staff and requested that the entire sector closely follow the objectives set out in Politburo Resolutions 54 and 71, as well as the 17th Congress Resolution of the City Party Committee. He emphasized the need to improve personnel quality; foster professional competence, ethics, and character; accelerate the progress of multi-level school projects; strengthen facilities; and proactively address the impacts of natural disasters and flooding.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung also conveyed two messages that General Secretary To Lam emphasized during his recent visit to Hue, including preserving the cultural identity and character of the people of Hue, and effectively carrying out post-disaster recovery efforts. He expressed confidence that, with their dedication and sense of responsibility, the teaching staff will continue to make strong contributions to the city’s sustainable development.
Also on the morning of November 18, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Director of the Hue City Police, visited and presented congratulatory flowers to Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School and the University of Economics, Hue University.

During his visit to Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan acknowledged the efforts and achievements in teaching and learning. He expressed his hope that the staff and teachers will continue to nurture their passion for the profession, maintain high teaching quality, and train students to become valuable members of society.
At the University of Economics, Hue University, the City Police Director highly praised the training programs linked to practical experience, particularly the corporate partnership programs that help ensure students secure employment after graduation. He emphasized that a high-quality workforce is a fundamental factor for Hue’s development, especially as the city moves toward building a smart urban area and promoting sustainable economic growth.
Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan expressed his expectation that the university will continue to leverage its strengths, foster a creative environment, and inspire students through the knowledge and practical experience of its faculty, so that graduates become dynamic, resilient human resources contributing to the development of their hometown.
