Attending the ceremony was Ms. Truong My Hoa - former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President of Vietnam, Chairwoman of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and Head of the “For Our Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa” Club. Representing the leaders of Hue City was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee.
The program presented 80 scholarships from the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the “For Our Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa” Club, each worth 1 million VND, to students in difficult circumstances, especially those from ethnic minority communities and the children of officers, soldiers, and residents living and studying in the nation’s sacred island areas.
In addition, Kim Oanh Real Estate Group donated 80 backpacks and 800 notebooks, valued at 24 million VND, to Hue City students; Hong Ha Primary - Secondary - High School (Ho Chi Minh City) contributed 100 million VND to Phu Tan Primary School (Thuan An Ward).
In recent years, many ethnic minority and coastal-area students in Hue City have received Vu A Dinh scholarships. Beyond financial support, each scholarship represents a powerful source of encouragement, sharing, and trust for students who possess determination and rise from hardship to nurture knowledge and aspiration.
According to reports from educational institutions, scholarship recipients have achieved highly encouraging results. Among them, 92% have maintained academic performance at “Good” or above, with many achieving the title of Outstanding Student. More than 70% have shown clear improvement, raising their grade point averages by 0,5 to 1,2 points compared to the year before receiving the scholarship. Over 95% have achieved “Good” conduct ratings, demonstrating responsibility, motivation, and maturity in their learning and character development. No students have dropped out, an especially meaningful outcome for areas still facing significant economic and transportation difficulties.
These figures not only reflect academic achievements but also demonstrate the lasting impact of the scholarships in improving education quality, fostering resilience, and guiding students toward brighter academic futures.
Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed deep gratitude for the dedication and heartfelt support of Ms. Truong My Hoa, as well as the invaluable contributions of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the “For Our Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa” Club to Hue City students over the years. Their consistent and humanitarian contributions have played an important role in spreading the spirit of learning, compassion, and social responsibility throughout the community. This support reflects not only care for Hue’s educational mission but also great encouragement for teachers and disadvantaged students; it stands as a vivid testament to the devotion of those who care deeply about the country’s future, its youth, and the sacred sovereignty of Vietnam’s seas and islands.
