When Hue’s beauty turns into melody

HNN.VN - In the heart of the poetic ancient capital, where natural beauty and traditional culture blend harmoniously, a music project named H.U.É has just been launched and made a strong impression on the art-loving community.

More than just a performance, “Sunset on Lim Bridge” has become a meeting place for the art lovers of the ancient capital

Organized by Hon Viet Event Co., Ltd., a very young company, the H.U.É program not only brings a unique musical experience but also introduces an inspiring model for community art engagement.

Hon Viet (Vietnamese Soul) Event was founded by three young members: Hoang Tien Nghia (1996), Hoang Tien Hieu (2001), and Nguyen Dai Long (1999). Though newly established, the company quickly drew attention with the launch of the H.U.É project, short for the French phrase “Harmonie Urbaine Éphémère” – a harmony between the city and emotion, where music meets the space of Hue.

H.U.É is a series of live sessions – a format of recording and filming a song or performance live, usually in a small space like a studio or small stage, then released as a music video or live performance video, creating moments that connect art, people, and everyday living spaces.

The first program of H.U.É recently took place at the Lim wooden bridge (Ironwood Bridge), titled “Lim hoang hon” (Sunset on Lim Bridge) right at sunset – when the sun dyed the Huong River and the poetic wooden bridge in golden hues. The space had no barriers, no invitation tickets, just simply sitting there – young Hue artists performed while locals, tourists walking by, or people exercising could stop and enjoy.

The event drew a large audience, from those who came intentionally for the artists and music to passers-by unexpectedly drawn in by the sound and emotional setting. Notably, the usual division of audiences disappeared – everyone stood or sat together in an equal, unrestricted space, experiencing music in its most authentic form.

Following the success of the first performance, Hon Viet Company announced it would continue to organize live sessions at other iconic locations in Hue such as Vong Canh Hill, Tam Giang Lagoon, Lap An Lagoon, Tu Duc Mausoleum… Each location will not only serve as a backdrop but as a character in the performance – telling stories, evoking emotion, and stirring memories of the ancient capital.

With this approach, H.U.É is not merely an art program but a new model of cultural communication that connects heritage, art, people, and tourism. H.U.É leans toward sophistication, spontaneity, and closeness, bringing art to audiences in a gentle and natural way.

The project not only promotes local destinations but also supports young local artists – the children of Hue who have always wanted to contribute to their homeland’s growth.

The birth of H.U.É reflects the creative spirit of Hue’s young generation, those unafraid to start from scratch, unafraid to experiment and break old molds to find their own path. In an increasingly commercialized art world, H.U.É chooses to return to nature, to emotion, and to the community. Unpretentious, unnoisy, yet rich in poetry, real life, and love for the homeland.

From one sunset afternoon on the Lim wooden bridge, H.U.É has planted a seed of art in the heart of the city. And if that seed continues to be nurtured with passion and the persistence of youth, Hue will surely gain a new, distinct cultural beauty in the current flow of life.
